Born in Spokane Washington & growing up an Air Force Brat, Denny Howard considers herself lucky to have lived in some amazing places. She spent most of her youth in Hawaii, surrounded by picturesque beauty. Her love of art & being creative has allowed her the philosophy to believe everything has a soul & purpose. When she paints, she lets each piece speak for itself hoping the viewer will be left with a little magic & inspiration. 

 

"I've always looked at things through a macro lens, studying & immersed in the smallest of details that most people just glance at overlooking a whole other world."

 

Denny started drawing as a pre-teen & balanced learning music at the same time. Self taught, she would draw people that she admired. In her later teen years, she spent time honing her passion for photography, which offered her the opportunity to photograph live rock concerts. By 19, she began pursuing a career in recording engineering, ultimately landing work in film & television but within a few years felt something was missing. 

 

"I knew I wanted to draw again & learn to paint. I jumped feet first into oil painting. I studied with Michael Seigel & began with still life then moving onto portraits. I enjoy painting still life but love painting portraits. 

My favorites are the Old Masters like Anthony Van Dyck."

 

An up & coming Artist, Denny Howard's work in both painting & award-winning photography are an eclectic expression of her ability to balance with harmony the same vision for either medium.
